Dominion Aviation Flight School Staff

OUR HIGHLY QUALIFIED AND PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS

Becky Luther, ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI, IGI

Becky is the Chief Flight Instructor and manager of the flight school. She has been with Dominion since 1994. A registered nurse turned pilot she has been flying for eighteen years. She has 4500 hours of flight time with over 2100 hours of dual instruction given. She has earned the FAA designation of Gold Seal Instructor. Becky holds type ratings in both Citation jets and a North American T-28 Trojan. She is a designated FAA Safety Counselor and Lasergrade Test Supervisor.

Mike Jewell, CFI, CFII, AGI

Mike has been flying for ten years and providing flight instruction for the past three years. He joined our staff in 2004 and has over 1,000 hours of flight time. Mike also provides administrative support to the Flight School and is editor of our flight school newsletter and a Laser Grade Test Proctor.

Jim Gamelli, ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI

As a former airline pilot, Jim has over 25,000 hours with 6000 hours of dual instruction in general aviation and airline crews. He retired from the airlines in 2003 after flying eight different types of regional aircraft spanning a twenty-four year career. He joined our staff as a full time instructor in 2005. Jim is also an accomplished singer,guitar player and recording artist.

Monty Visser CFI, CFII

Monty has been flying for ten years and is a member of our part-time instructing staff. He joined our team in 2002. By day he is a project consultant for the building industry. Monty earned his flight ratings through Pan Am International Flight Academy. Monty has earned the FAA designation of Gold Seal Instructor and has over 1500 hours of flight time.

Heather Perkins, CFI

Heather is a member of our part-time instructing staff. She joined our team in 2005 and has over 400 hours of flight time. Heather is a graduate of Purdue Univeristy with a Degree in Flight Technology. While there she also earned her A&P certification. Heather works full time in our maintenance department. She hopes to someday build her own plane.

Philippe Polman, CFI, CFII, MEI

Philippe has been flyng for seven years. He received his Private Pilot Certification in France and then moved to the U.S.A to further his aviation career. He is a full time staff instructor with instrument and multiengine instructor raings. Philippe is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a degree in International Studies. In his off-time, Philippe enjoys many outdoor activities, painting and music.
