Ground Schools

Dominion Aviation offers Private and Instrument Ground Schools several times through out the year. Dates and details of upcoming classes are listed below. These courses are designed to prepare students to take and successfully complete the FAA Private Pilot and Instrument Knowledge Exams. They also serve as excellent reviews for licensed pilots wanting a review or updates in regulatory changes. The courses cover topics and questions from the examination. The actual FAA exam may be scheduled after completion of the course with your instructor's signoff. Students who attend our ground schools are offered a discount on the exam upon completion of the courses.

You may confirm interest in a ground school at any time by calling the DAS Front Desk on (804) 271-7793 or by e-mail at flightschool@dominionaviation.com – please provide your name and a daytime telephone number, we will contact you when dates have been finalized.

Class numbers range from 8 to 12 students in a round-the-table conference room setting. Formal instruction is given using overhead and video formats. Added value is given through Q&A, actual experiences of instructors/students and general discussion. Note that DAS ground schools are comprehensive and intensive – you will need to study between each class for up to three hours for maximum benefit.
