Safety The FAA sets the basic safety, operational and administration standards through the issuance of our Part 135 Certificate. We came to recognize the need to do something more to demonstrate to customers that we run one of the most professional charter businesses in the country. That “something more” has been to work towards accreditation to not one but two aviation quality systems – Aviation Resource Group (ARG/US) Platinum Audit Standards and The Air Charter Safety Foundation. These two organizations are recognized as providing the top independent audits in the United States and their requirements far exceed government regulatory oversight. The process for accreditation involved permitting small teams of aviation management professionals to explore the way in which we conduct our business in every aspect of operations, safety, flight, recruitment, training, scheduling, in-flight performance and maintenance. Anyone familiar with ISO 9000 will appreciate the scope and depth of the examination to which we opened up our business. Accreditation was not easy and furthermore, we must continue to perform to the same standards of excellence to retain our credentials with both organizations. Dominion Aviation is ARG/US Platinum Rated and is Air Charter Safety Foundation registered. Out of the approximately 2,400 certified charter companies in the United States, there are only 88 that hold the prestigious Platinum Rating and 25 that meet the qualifications and hold registered status with the Air Charter Safety Foundation (as of March 2011). As of March 2011, Dominion Aviation is the only charter company in Virginia that holds both the ARG/US Platinum Rating and is on the Air Charter Safety Foundation registry.
